Managed storage
You do not need a cloud account to start using Arraylake. Every organization gets an allocation of Earthmover-managed storage, and repositories you create against it work exactly like repositories in your own bucket.
Bringing your own bucket is still fully supported and is the right model for compliance, data residency, and existing data lakes. See Manage storage to connect one.
Managed storage is currently provisioned on Cloudflare R2, an object store with no egress fees. Earthmover provisions and manages the bucket for you.

What counts against your allocation
Everything in the bucket. Your usage is the total size of your managed storage bucket, across every repository in it.
Limits
You are warned as you approach your limit, and new writes are blocked once you cross it. Your existing data stays where it is and stays readable.
Usage is recomputed on a schedule rather than on every write, so the number you see can lag your most recent commits slightly.
To get back under the limit, delete repositories or data you no longer need, or upgrade your plan. If you are stuck, contact support.
Moving to your own bucket
Connecting your own bucket does not migrate anything and does not move your existing repositories. New repositories can target the new bucket; existing ones stay where they are.
