Marketplace

The Earthmover Marketplace offers a modern, cloud-native data sharing experience for high-velocity gridded weather, climate, and geospatial datasets. Data Providers can share free or open data, or set custom pricing. Data Users get instant, high-throughput access to datasets, ideal for analytical and AI workloads.

Core Concepts​

  • Data Provider — An Organization which provides data via the Marketplace.
  • Data User — An Organization which consumes data via the Marketplace.
  • Listings — Specific offerings in the Marketplace that data providers can define, share, manage, and monetize. A listing may represent the contents of an entire Repo or a filtered variant (subset by variable, timestep, spatial region, etc.). A listing is created and managed by the data provider.
  • Subscriptions — A read-only repo in a Data User's organization that provides access to a listing's data. Free listings create direct subscriptions (a mirror of the provider's repo), while paid listings create filtered subscriptions (scoped to specific variables or regions, with metadata in the subscriber's bucket).
  • Exchanges — Curated catalogs of listings, each owned by an organization. The Marketplace is Earthmover's own exchange; organizations can also run their own exchanges to share data with a select group of partner organizations.
